This very pretty house in an idea village setting near Box had not had any work done on it since 1945 except for the installation of partial central heating twenty five years previously.

The house was sympathetically refurbished completely from the roof downwards. The whole of the ground floor interior was excavated to provide a new damp proof course with real hardwood floors and flagstones.Re wiring, re plumbing, new central heating system, new hand made windows, a fabulous individual designer country kitchen and Italian bathrooms completed the wonderful new look.
In the process three original stone fireplaces were uncovered and renovated for use. The remains of an old first floor balcony was also discovered and removed and a new hand made larger iron one installed in its place off the master bedroom through new French windows.
The finished accommodation comprised four double bedrooms, three bathrooms, lounge, drawing room, office, large kitchen diner.

The steeply sloping south facing garden was surrounded by a varied array of large deciduous trees. The overgrown garden was then spit into three large, separate terraced areas,

The new garden was designed to incorporate a range of mature fruit trees to one side. A large central, formal lawn was framed by deep surrounding perennial cottage garden borders,a sunken dining area, two further large terraced areas, separate soft fruit garden, large raised bed vegetable garden, traditional historic design green house and chicken house all complemented the stunning old house to provide the perfect village setting.
